World leading supplier of ATC training and simulation systems, MicroNav Limited, have completed installation of their BEST (Beginning to End for Simulation & Training) system at Sofia Control Centre, using Thruput GF VT 16 embedded ATC displays for the operator consoles.

With a resolution of 4K x 2K pixels, the GF VT 16 matches the dots-per-inch of traditional 2K x 2K displays, so label and symbol sizes are completely familiar to Air Traffic Controllers.

For the MicroNav BEST application, three sets of data are embedded on each screen: ATC, Flight strips and MET. These are all within the user’s optimum field of view, and the mouse travels seamlessly between them without ever being obscured by bezels or displaced by pixel size differences.

Thruput MIDAS technology is used to create the embedded visual display, and is in full Operational Service on the Merlin Helicopter Mission System Simulators at RNAS Culdrose and the ATC consoles of Tallinn ACC. In August 2014, MIDAS technology completed one million operating hours.
